I am Victoria, the face behind Sew1965.
You will mostly find me in my husbands former study turned creative workshop - surrounded by floral fabric, Liberty print, buttons and pictures of David Tennant.
Sew 1965 came about in late 2014 when I left my job as a legal secretary - a job I had been doing for 25 years, for a more creative role. I have always loved sewing - from making patchwork quilts with my Grandma to conjuring up dolls clothes for my children's dolls. After drafting a pattern and buying my first bundle of pretty fabric, I made what was to be the first in my expansive collection of dresses.
Each dress is handmade, lined and finished with a set of vintage inspired buttons. Highlights of my new creative career so far have included being nominated by Country Living magazine as a Fledgling Business 2015, collaborating with other designers for a bespoke maternity gift service Taylor'd Bundles and selling to celebrities, including X Factor contestant Diana Vickers.
I have been mainly making dresses for children aged 0 - 4 years and I stock in two gift shops. Recently, I have been creating pinafore dresses for adults on a made to order basis - do get in touch to find out more.
