Happy Sew1965 Birthday!

This week I celebrate the first anniversary of my little venture that is Sew1965. I am hugely grateful to so many people, I have received so much support and help along the way, in particular my own family. With this in mind, I have two new dresses named after my own daughters, by way of a thank you for their help.

If you are interested in purchasing a dress, please email me, I don't stock everything on my website as I prefer to offer buyers a selection of fabrics available so I can make the dresses individually - the sewing machine is always ready and waiting!

Sew1965 meets The Bronte Sisters!

Sew1965 meets The Bronte Sisters! I've had a very exciting weekend. On Saturday I met the lovely Diane that runs 'Wave of Nostalgia' in Haworth. If any of you are familiar with the Bronte Sisters then you will know this was where they lived, in the Parsonage at the top of the High Street. Diane kindly accepted to stock my Pinafores and now has a selection in her shop. Wave of Nostalgia is a very pretty shop full of lots of lovely little gifts - a treasure trove and definitely worth a visit. I first visited Haworth age 14 when I fell in love with 'Bronte World' and even walked to Top Withens, a beautiful place - and if ever you get the chance to visit, I not only recommend the walk, but stop off at Wave of Nostalgia, meet Diane, check out the products and in particular,...

Update from Country Living and Downton!

Update from Country Living and Downton! Well it's been a busy few weeks at Sew1965. I attended the Country Living Spring Fair last month and received some lovely feedback from those attending. Lots of 'oohs and ahhhs' could be heard at my stall and I even received feedback from Dan Cooper, a Buyer at John Lewis as follows: 'Clearly dress making is a real passion. The dresses were super in quality and style.....' Then, yesterday, I attended the annual Easter Egg Hunt at Highclere Castle (Downton Abbey) - a beautiful event held each year to raise funds for a children's hospice. I was lucky enough to share a stall with a collaborator or mine that makes pretty bibs. Around 4,000 people attended the day and I sold some pinafores to some very cute customers. A photo is attached...
